Machining for the Defense Industry

Gemini Machining specializes in precision machining for the defense industry.

Gemini Machining has completed hundreds of precision machining, precision turning and precision milling projects for the defense industry, defense contractors and related firms.

Experience has taught us much about serving as a precision machining vendor for the defense industry. We understand – and consistently meet – the unforgiving deadline structures. We get the need for absolute security and discretion. And we always go above and beyond to allow our clients to complete their defense projects successfully.

Why Gemini for Defense Industry Machining?

As a premier precision machine shop, we always strive for absolute perfection. Gemini’s services are best described as “value-added machining” – far more than is offered by the average job shop. Here, your parts will be handled only by experienced machinists and CNC operators, and will only be manufactured after a comprehensive engineering review process is completed. After machining, they will undergo QC testing guaranteed to meet or exceed even the most stringent internal and governmental standards. And perhaps most importantly, they – and your all-important IP – will be kept completely secure and confidential. Numerous large defense contractors already trust Gemini with precision machining projects both routine and extremely sensitive. You can, too.

Defense Industry Machining Case Study: Camera Parts

The story begins quite typically: A camera manufacturer needed small parts for its equipment. That’s a job that nearly any machine shop can handle. But only Gemini Machining was capable of doing the actual work they needed.

Gemini’s services are best described as “value-added machining” – far more than is offered by the average job shop.
This was no ordinary camera manufacturer. Their cameras are made for use in extreme circumstances – in this case, capturing U.S. military missile launches in extreme detail: up to 1,000 frames per second. With that much stress on the camera’s inner workings, any imperfection in its machined parts (no matter how slight) could cause a catastrophic failure – wasting millions in taxpayer dollars. Such are the stakes in defense industry machining. Gemini Machining rose to the challenge. The camera parts crafted and QC’d in the machining company’s Easton, Pa., facility exceeded every standard for tolerance, fit and function, and performed admirably in the finished product.
